NORTHERN REGION AND HIBISCUS COAST

To the north of Mackay lies stunning beaches, mangrove-lined estuaries, beautiful bush walks and nature at its best. The suburbs of Midge Point, St Helens Beach, Seaforth, Cape Hillsborough, Haliday Bay, Calen and The Leap have lots to offer. While the pathways in this area are limited, there are more than enough natural bushwalks to make up for it. Cape Hillsborough alone has five truly magical walks, taking in everything from a coral rock pool to a mangrove boardwalk and some amazing views along the way.

There are also some excellent parks in the area. Seaforth Esplanade is set to undergo a major upgrade with a comprehensive playground within the hub, and a contemporary-style water play feature.  There are also excellent parks, complete with basketball facilities, at St Helens Beach and The Leap. Midge Point and Calen also have great family parks complete with play equipment and barbecues.

You can browse the parks below or use the navigation tool above to plan your next outing and then get out, explore and discover a suburb near you!
